Polynucleotides
Unlocking Radiant Skin.

Polynucleotides are biopolymers composed of nucleotide monomers. They are essentially long chains of nucleotides, which are the building blocks of DNA and RNA. These molecules have various roles in the body, including cellular repair and . In aesthetic treatments, polynucleotides are used for their regenerative properties, helping to improve skin by promoting cell turnover and healing.

This treatment helps to stimulate regenerative processes, leading to improved skin texture, elasticity, and hydration.

It is also great for people who want to prevent the signs of ageing on the skin.

What are Polynucleotides?

are long chains of nucleotides, which are the building blocks of DNA and RNA. These molecules are derived from salmon DNA, which has been found to be highly biocompatible with human tissue.

The treatment works at a cellular level to stimulate tissue repair, promote collagen production, and improve overall skin quality.

Plinest vs. Sunekos

Both Plinest and Sunekos are bio-revitalisation treatments, but they differ in their composition and mechanisms of action. Sunekos contains a formula of hyaluronic acid combined with a specific blend of amino acids, whilst Plinest uses polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA.

Key differences include:

Active ingredients: Sunekos relies on hyaluronic acid and amino acids to stimulate the extracellular matrix, whereas Plinest uses for cellular regeneration and tissue repair.

Mechanism: Sunekos works by providing the building blocks for collagen and elastin synthesis, whilst Plinest actively stimulates fibroblast activity and has additional anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Treatment areas: Both can be used on similar areas, though Plinest Eye is specifically formulated for the periorbital region, whilst Sunekos has formulations (Sunekos 200 and Sunekos 1200) for varying levels of skin laxity.

Results: Both natural-looking improvements. However, Sunekos is the preferred product at Karwal Aesthetics, delivering more dramatic results and better improvement in hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and skin texture—especially crepey skin.

Plinest vs. Profhilo

Both Plinest and Profhilo are bio-remodelling treatments that stimulate natural skin rejuvenation, but they differ in their composition and approach:

Active ingredients: Profhilo contains highly concentrated acid (HA), whilst Plinest uses polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA.

Mechanism of action: Profhilo works through bio-remodelling with HA to stimulate collagen and production in four types of collagen. Plinest works by directly stimulating fibroblast activity and has additional anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Injection technique: Profhilo typically uses the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique with 5 injection points per side of the face, whilst Plinest requires multiple injection points distributed across the treatment area.

Spread: Profhilo's unique formulation allows it to spread more easily under the skin after injection, whilst Plinest remains more localised to the injection sites.

Hydration vs. regeneration: Profhilo primarily on hydration and bio-remodelling, whilst Plinest emphasises cellular regeneration, tissue repair, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Treatment areas: Both can be used on similar areas, though Profhilo is particularly noted for its lifting and effects on the face and neck, whilst Plinest offers targeted formulations like Eye for specific concerns.

Results: Both provide natural-looking improvements. However, Profhilo is the preferred product at Karwal Aesthetics between the two. Profhilo delivers a natural glow, plumpness, and hydration to the skin.

Potential side effects

Plinest polynucleotide are generally well-tolerated, but some temporary side effects may occur:

Mild swelling at injection sites

Slight bruising (more common in sensitive areas)

Redness or tenderness

Small bumps at injection points

These effects typically resolve within hours. Serious side effects are rare when performed by qualified practitioners.
